Teacher & Student Artwork!
Hello out there all you blog readers!
The last few weeks have been so artistically inspiring! I mentioned last week that I went to a paper cutting class at one of my favorite shops in Kurashiki, Cota Coha. I had so much fun that I had to go again and bring my friend Daniel, who came down from Okayama to visit. We both got to make two cut-out animals. He made a suave flamingo with a bow tie and a cute koala (also sporting a stylish bow tie) which we thought was appropriate as he is Australian. For my second time around, I made a light green orangutan and an orange elephant. I gave the elephant cut-out to our teacher and she traded me for her beautiful yellow rose cut-out! My orangutan and rose are hanging on my kitchen wall now! It was so much fun!
Our Hello elementary-level kids are also starting to turn in their own works of art for the upcoming recital. These pictures will be displayed on a projector screen behind them when they recite their stories on stage. Here is a scene from Where the Wild Things Are by 9 year old, Mimi Nishimura.
Great artwork Mimi!!
Well that's all until next week folks! Thanks for reading!
